Bad Brownie's Vegan Salted Caramel Brownie
I'll just say that again... Vegan. Salted. Caramel. Brownie. Has that captured your attention yet? It definitely should as Bad Brownie's vegan brownies are delicious! The founders, Paz & Morag say on one of their YouTube videos "We don't do bad brownies"... and they definitely don't do a shoddy vegan brownie!
If you're wondering where you've heard the name 'Bad Brownie' before, it might be because they featured on Dragon's Den back in January 2016 and were successful in securing an investment from Touker Suleyman. Well done! Can't imagine that was an easy day at the office...
So a few months back the lovely people at Bad Brownie sent me a box of their vegan brownies to try but then I got really busy and I couldn't find the time to sit down and gather my thoughts. So this review is a little later than planned but you should keep reading! This isn't an advertisement or a sponsored post, if I find something that's vegan and it just happens to be delicious then I'm going to shout about it from the rooftops and encourage you to give it a try and see for yourself. Bad Brownie aren't a vegan company, but their vegan Brownie is THAT good they bloody should be!
When they said they were sending me a box to try I was shocked at how many brownies were in the box! I was also excited because it meant that I could take them to work to get some honest reviews from my colleagues who are a mix of vegetarians and non-vegans (with a few vegans thrown in for good measure) and boy did they love them!
People who live in Manchester... do you remember a few months ago when we saw some sunshine? That was the weekend I got the brownies! So I was told to keep them in the fridge because they have a gooey salted caramel layer and it would quickly seep out in the sun. So before taking some pictures (and letting Mr B dig in - poor sod) I did scoff a few and I couldn't believe they were vegan AND gluten free! They were unbelievably rich and chocolatey so the salted caramel layer balanced this out nicely. In fact... the salted caramel is heavenly and you wouldn't know there's coconut milk in there. The gold shimmer on top also makes them look pretty and appetising. Gooey, fudgy, oozy, salty and sweet. The perfect mix in my opinion!
I took them to work and my colleagues couldn't wait to dig in and I wish I'd videoed their reactions. Cue eyes rolling back into their head like they've never tasted chocolate before. There were lots of people saying "oh my god" and sexual noises going on in the basement kitchen that day. I even noticed people sneaking back and fourth from the kitchen with another brownie. Safe to say they went down a treat, they scoffed the lot and requested more! We even gave our neighbours some and they also gave them the thumbs up! Everyone has been surprised that they're vegan! We also ate some warmed up with some vegan ice cream on the side which was also delicious. I mean you can't go wrong with a hot brownie can you?
If you've got this far and are wondering if I rate them then I think you've already guessed that I'm giving these a bad boys a 10/10! Bad Brownie make a banging vegan brownie and I'd have to say probably the best brownie I've had since going vegan! I'm definitely going to order another box from their website and I'm excited to take some for my family members to try. I like that they come in small bites as they're very rich and even Mr B couldn't eat more than two in a row so they're definitely a treat. They will last for a week but can also be frozen so you always have brownies on hand when you get those chocolate cravings.

Hope you enjoy them as much as we all did!
